TUSCALOOSA, AL — Two women are once again set to represent Tuscaloosa on the big stage Monday at the 2022 Boston Marathon. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts Hosted by the Boston Athletic Association, the 26.2-mile marathon saw its wheelchair division begin at 8:02 a.m. CST, with the first wave of runners beginning at 9 a.m. CST A new wave of participants will then start every 25 minutes, with the last one beginning at 10:15 a.m. CST. Ann Besanceney, 42, and Chihiro Nakai, 37 — both running out of Tuscaloosa — competed and finished the marathon last year. Nakai is also a citizen of Japan and will be running in her fifth Boston Marathon. In only her second marathon and her first time running the world-famous Boston Marathon in 2021, she finished with a time of 3:23:41, averaging out to 7:47 a mile.
