LONG ISLAND, NY — A federal judge in Florida has struck down the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's mask mandate for travelers on planes, buses, trains and other modes of transportation. U.S. District Court Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Tampa said the CDC had overstepped its legal authority by imposing the mandate last year. The CDC recently renewed the travel mask mandate until May 3. It was due to expire on April 18, ABC7 reported. However, the Long Island Rail Road is not ready to make any changes for commuters. "We are continuing to follow CDC guidelines and will review the Florida court order," MTA Communications Director Tim Minton said in a statement.
