Hi, I am John, 59, pro/am bassist and backup singer. Relatively new to Austin. I have played bass and sang for almost 40 years. Most of my bands have been hard rock cover bands, but I have also been in a few original music projects that were very cool. Hard rock is my first love, but I have played acoustic CSN-type stuff, country, reggae, pop...just about anything except hip hop, R&B, dance music...not my bag. Bassists that have impacted my style include John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Jack Bruce, Robert DeLeo, Mike Inez, Stu Hamm, so many others. I play very nice gear. Basses by Gibson, Fender, and ESP. David Eden World Tour 800 with Eden speakers, half or full stack. Nothing like David Eden bass amps, especially the strong ones like this. I want to practice regularly and perform live regularly with a local band in Austin. I have a day job, but if you want to play live often, that's fine. A temporary leave of absence for a short tour is definitely possible. You will not find my lack of dedication to be an issue. Honestly, I thought in this town finding a band would be easy, but so far it's just not. Let's rock, I wanna jam very soon.
