Hello to All Sabbatarians, As was my way up until yesterday (the Sabbath of April 2nd), as a scattered Sabbatarian with no body to attend with, I listened to various sources for Live messages, yet to my further disgust the first thing I heard this last Sabbath, a Pastor I know well from many years past, launched into a Passover/Unleavened Bread message, that began with a chastisement of those who don't go along with "their" (the average Sabbatarian/Churches of God) Calendar ideas, while refusing to so much as acknowledge or (ever) address their own tightly held hypocrisy's. I've been so patient for years, to see any of the groups do some Serious and Honest research into how and why they adopted the Jewish traditions of such days, that I will be clear here, are NOT Found Anywhere in the Bible. These include the main precepts of: 1. What defines the Turn/Beginning of a Year to God. 2. What defines When a the New Moon is. 3. What and Why "Postponement/Dehioth Rules" rules are used by Jewish sects, when God never mentions them. 4. The Bible mention of "Oracles of God, being manipulated to assume/include God's Calendar, when Christ chastized Jewish sect leaders repeatedly throughout the Gospel accounts, and Paul gave a stern warning about heeding them in Colossians 2:16, yet said CoG's, etc. re-interpret that too. This is the subject matter that has troubled me the most, because if I can see the mess, why can't they?? So to my core reason for posting is this: Are you someone who has noticed Sabbatarian groups teachings that are cherry-pick very selectively? Church teachers avoid having a more genuine approach of researching to have a FULL Context about teachings? If so, we should talk, because if I'm out here independently, as I have been (more officially since 2009, but mentally long before), I'm sure others are out there too. The church has been WARNED in prophecy where God is going to bring judgment first: 1 Peter 4:17 "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" If you're over-tired of being and feeling alone, there is space at my house to gather each Sabbath, and NOT be subject to not being heard. Even if conclusions are different, we all at least deserve to be heard and engage and TRULY have Studies that pour over Context of storyflow, because Context matters ALWAYS. As an added brief note to stir thoughts: I first became mindful of the Sabbath in the late 70's. I sporadically studied matters for years, and first became serious about my Sabbath connections in 1986, though even that didn't engage more fully until 1991. During the latter 80's through the 90's, the Sabbatarian churches went through many changes of dividing and re-dividing their own flocks. By the turn of the century, most had resettled, yet at times, divisions still occurred, mostly because various teachers wold come up with their "pet doctrines" that would sway brethren into further division. As true irony would have it, most divisions came by way of smaller teachings that seemed to me as subtle power grabs to have "tithing" monies go their way. This "tithing" matter has troubled me as well, as it too has been craftily cherry-picked to avoid more telling passages. Why have I never heard these taught, that were directly for those preaching God's Gospel, that Jesus Christ himself sent out? Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles Luke 9:3 "And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece." Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two Luke 10:4 "Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way." Scripture Must Be Fulfilled in Jesus Luke 22:35 "And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing." There are other misconstrued passages too. Other topics they twist: Creationism (i.e. Old vs. Young); Holy Day Offerings (I read an internal CoG document once, back in the 90's, that showed that when it was one large body, the leadership made the decision to change from this "times" or mean "seasons" so they could alter it from Three annual Offerings, to Seven. I don't know how many weere aware that administrative leaders did this To Extract More $$$ Deuteronomy 16:16 "Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: :17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee." It may seem benign on the surface, yet it's riddled with problems that defy logic. Again, these are a small smattering of theological problems, taught to brethren, who were rarely, if ever taught/trained to learn to discern things in storyflow context. I've heard/seen programs where this mindset was encouraged, yet was also contradicted in the very messages urging it. PLEASE DO NOT ever forget this wise adage: The DEVIL is IN the Details". Drop a note if you can relate. Cheers!
