Job Summary: The Floorhand assists the Motorhand, Derrickhand and Driller with set up and take down of equipment on the drilling rig. Responsibilities include repairing, maintaining, cleaning and operating rig equipment. Job Description: Responsible for gathering, handling, and sorting tools, pipes, and other materials that aid in the rig’s operations Assist in rig moves; help with rig-up/rig-down, nipple up and down blowout preventers, assist with general assembly and maintenance and help prepare new location Assist with inspecting, slipping and cutting drilling line Responsible for picking up and laying down tubulars, attaching or detaching pick-up lines, and the hook up and tear out of flare and degasser line Transports equipment on company crew and tool truck Runs safety checks and reports safety hazards, accidents or maintenance issues to the rig supervisor Operates rod wrenches, tongs, elevators and other associated rig tools and equipment Works in shop or yard as needed Performs other duties as assigned Safety: Follows and enforces all safety requirements and regulations Attends all safety meetings and trainings Recognizes, corrects, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions and utilizes “stop work” protocols as necessary Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times Commits to working safely at all times Minimum Qualifications: Punctual, trustworthy, dependable and reliable Demonstrates strong teamwork skills Strong customer service skills Knowledge of oil and gas facility operations Must have a valid driver’s license Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED preferred 1 or 2 years of floor hand experience preferred Physical Requirements: Willing to work a 14 days on, 7 days off, working 12 hour shifts that can include days or nights Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds Ability to climb steps and ladders Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions Able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time Able to squat and/or bend over, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl
