NEW LONDON, CT — Police are investigating the non-fatal shooting of a man early Saturday morning. Just before 4 a.m., New London police responded to the parking lot of H&T Mini Mart at 1 Ocean Avenue for a report of gunshots fired, and secured the perimeter. Around that same time an adult gunshot wound victim arrived at Lawrence+Memorial Hospital for medical care. The man appeared to have sustained two gunshot wounds to his upper arm area, according to the police report. "The sustained gunshot wounds did not appear to be life threatening at time of contact," the report said. Detectives also responded to the hospital to collect evidence and conduct interviews, according to the report. The investigation remains active.
