Coronavirus: Southside Hospital Celebrates 500 Patient Discharges

BAY SHORE, NY — It was a day of celebration Saturday as Southside Hospital's 500th coronavirus patient was discharged in Bay Shore. The patient, Helber Soriano of Bay Shore, was wheeled out of the hospital and found a group of employees gathered outside cheering and clapping in support. The milestone came after health care workers at the local hospital celebrated 36-year-old Yanira Soriano, who was discharged and got to meet her baby for the first time last week after recovering from the coronavirus.
