Seeking Traditional Appalachian Musicians to Play a Multi-Genre Progressive Mix

Jobs

Christiansburg VA

Description

If you play… Banjo - Mandolin - Violin/Fiddle - Lap steel - Acoustic Guitar - All the Above - Etc. & So Forth And if you want to branch out in your musical style, I would like to talk to you. I am a working musician (bassist/singer/songwriter) living in the NRV and serving Roanoke (mainly). I actively compose original music, I’ve released original music (streaming and cds) and can help you do the same, and I’m currently playing in two projects, one of which I lead. I’m jam band/prog/jazz fusion oriented but I love traditional music in all forms. No one in our area that I know of is doing Béla Fleck and Sam Bush and John Hartford. And I have ideas beyond that, as well, and could really use your help. If you know the above mentioned artists you likely realize that you’ll need an excellent sense of rhythm and timing to truly achieve the overall vision. But what I’m actually looking for right now is alliances. I often have gigs I need to fill at breweries and wineries and the like, and I think you could be a part of that. I do expect a high level of professionalism but that’s mostly about having a good attitude and being able to be dependable. I’m not into party bands like I used to be; I’m into making good music. If you are at all interested, don’t hesitate to drop me a note and we’ll talk or meet up at a coffee shop or brewery or something. Best wishes and blessings to you and your music!
