Description

NEW HAVEN, CT — "We fly so you can soar," an American Airlines's tagline goes. But not at Tweed New Haven Regional Airport anymore. State Rep. Sean Scanlon, (D-Branford, Guilford) is the airport's executive director. He told the New Haven Register that American Airlines is "pulling out." The departure of American Airlines' American Eagle service at Tweed leaves no commercial airline at the airport. Back in August, when the airline stopped flights, it was reported to be temporary. I have been in contact with Sean Scanlon at @FlyTweed and understand this is a short-term financial decision by American Airlines. We are looking forward to the relaunch of service as Tweed is an important asset to New Haven. https://t.co/KTu3fqFjUE— Mayor Justin Elicker (@MayorElicker) August 20, 2020 Read the full New Haven Register story here.
