NEW HAVEN, CT — Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is rolling out a new pie for a limited time: Chicken Pesto Pizza. Beginning November 30, the pizza will be available at all 12 restaurant locations across the region.
The pizza is made with mozzarella, oven-roasted chicken and red peppers, nut-free pesto sauce, grated pecorino Romano and olive oil.
"...this specialty pie will be perfect for family pizza nights during the holidays," Pepe's said in a statement. "Like all of Pepe's nationally renowned pizzas, the Chicken Pesto Pizza will be made with Frank Pepe's signature crust, which features the perfect combination of crunch, char, and chew."
Pepe's is encouraging guests to order the new Chicken Pesto Pizza online through its website. And until December 31, customers will receive a $20 e-gift card for every $100 in e-gift cards purchased. This annual, online-only promotion will be available on pepespizza.com.
Pepe's has 11 locations across the Northeast with a 12th planned location coming to Maryland. Pepe's is famous for its coal-fired, New Haven-style pizza cooked at between 800 and 900 degrees which gives the pizza the signature crispy yet chewy, delicious crust.
Pepe Pizzeria was founded in 1925 at 163 Wooster St. by Italian immigrant Frank Pepe. The restaurant consistently ranks high in national pizza "best of" lists. For the past three years Pepe's has been ranked number 1 on The Daily Meal's 101 Best Pizzas in America list.
In January, Pepe's introduced another new dish, a meatball and ricotta pizza.
