NEW HAVEN, CT — Iconic Wooster Street establishment Sally's Apizza will be temporarily closed due to pandemic precautions.
The restaurant posted on its website: "Effective immediately, Sally's Apizza will be temporarily closed as a voluntary precaution to deep clean our facilities. This precaution is part of a continued effort to keep our staff, amazing customers and surrounding New Haven community safe. We'll be evaluating a re-opening date and will provide a more detailed plan in the coming days. Please stay safe and follow the guidelines put forth by CT Health Officials.
"Thank you for your understanding during these wild times and the incredible support. We will get through this together.
"Make sure to follow @sallysapizza for real time updates, news and re-opening information. Stay tuned."
Sally's is more than eight decades old and has consistently been ranked as one of the best pizzerias in the state and the country. It landed number eight on the Daily Meal's list of best pizza in America for 2017.
In April, the pizzeria broke with tradition and began offering takeout service as a safety measure.
