Description

Golf with top administrators and alumni to benefit low-income and multicultural students at Phillips Exeter Academy. This is the beginning of yet another transformational time in the 241-year history of Phillips Exeter Academy, where goodness walks hand-in-hand with knowledge under the banner of non-Sibi (“not for self”). Having recognized how recent world events resonated on our campus and realizing the need to protect and nurture all students in our care, among many other initiatives we have committed to becoming an anti-racist school and to a need-blind admissions policy. As more and more deserving students find their place here, your participation is needed to help support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Exeter. Initially, your golf benefit registrations, sponsorships and donations will help to fund scholarships for multicultural and low-income students. Preceded by breakfast and followed by a delicious awards luncheon, the benefit will include 18 holes of 4-man scramble play at Langston Golf Course – the first full-blown, 18-hole public golf course in Washington, D.C. open to Black golfers. If you choose to join us for golf or just lunch, expect to mingle with top leaders and notable alumni from the academy; otherwise, know that your donation will be gratefully acknowledged, and your sponsorship will be seen at all three Washington, DC municipal golf courses: East Potomac Park, Rock Creek Golf Course, and in multiple ways by an anticipated 150 golfers and guests at Langston on the day of the event.
