Dr. Kevin Jordan, a Bay Shore resident, has been named Vice President for Student Affairs at Farmingdale State College. Dr. Jordan had already been serving as the College's Chief Diversity Officer, and will continue in that role.
Dr. Jordan had held the position of VP for Student Affairs on an interim basis for the past year, and during that time made significant contributions to improvements in student life, student services, and residence life, as well as continuing initiatives in diversity and inclusion.
He serves on the Board of Directors of two Long Island not-for-profit organizations: Project Safety Net-NY, Inc. and Bridge to Promise, Inc. He is a member of the Urban League's State of Black Long Island Council, and a founding member of the on-line "Trusted Voices of Long Island" dialogue, whose mission is to bring community leaders and visionaries together to address issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity.
Dr. Jordan holds an EdD from Dowling College in Education Administration, Leadership and Technology; an MDiv from Union Theological Seminary; and an AB from Princeton University with a focus on Psychology.
