Formed in 1971, the German Armed Forces Die Big Band der Bundeswehr, led by bandleader Lieutenant Colonel Timor Oliver Chadik, is one of Germany’s most outstanding show and entertainment orchestras. Performing swing, rock, and pop music with the typical big band sound, these German service members present themselves both as the modern musical representation of the Federal Republic of Germany and as ambassadors of the German Armed Forces.
