LCO performs a sonic gallery of mighty, moving, and majestic masterworks to end its 21-22 season. The LCO welcomes you to enjoy music inspired by a variety of non-musical sources. We begin with mighty and heroic music from Wagner's overture from "Rienzi", an opera celebrating the legacy of Rome complete with dramatic trumpet calls and a military march. Manuel de Falla's suite from "The Three Cornered Hat" features three magnificent dances to evoke all the color, flair and passion associated with the traditional music of Spain. Finally, the LCO ends with the venerable "Pictures at an Exhibition", which brings listeners through a literal sonic gallery of sorts.
