You’re invited to CISCRP’s free, educational event to learn about clinical research and public health in your community. Clinical trials can change lives. Learn how to get involved... Our Journey to Better Health | AWARE for All programs not only raise awareness about clinical research, but provide a foundation of knowledge to help the public make informed decisions about their healthcare. Join us on May 19th, from 5-8 PM at The New York Academy of Medicine in NYC to learn more about clinical trials and hear personal experiences from those who are involved in them. You can also connect with a variety of local health and wellness organizations to find out more about their programs and services. A light meal of individually wrapped sandwiches, refreshments, and dessert will be provided. Event Agenda: •5:00 PM: The Informational Exhibit Center opens Access free health screenings and visit exhibits from research, advocacy, community, and wellness organizations.Includes access to free HIV and HCV health screenings6:00 PM: Welcome & Opening Remarks6:10-6:30 PM: Clinical Research Overview PresentationTopics include: the basics of the clinical trial process, the safeguards in place, the importance of diversity in trials, and more.• 6:30-7:30 PM: Speaker Panel Hear from knowledgeable healthcare and research professionals, and from community members who have participated in a clinical trial.• 7:30-7:45 PM: Closing Remarks & Raffle *Though we look forward to meeting you, please stay home if you are not feeling well.
