Meet local author Raechel Henderson for a talk and book signing event for The Scent of Lemon and Rosemary (Llewellyn, 2021)! Saturday, April 30th is independent bookstore day! In celebration, we will be hosting Llewellyn author and Chicago witch, Raechel Henderson for a book signing and Q&A talk starting at 6 pm. Raechel’s newest book, The Scent of Lemon and Rosemary: Working Domestic Magick with Hestia was released by major metaphysical book publisher Llewellyn May 21, 2021. As we were right smack dab in the middle of figuring out vaccine schedules during this phase of the pandemic, this beautiful book didn’t receive a release party in 2021. We’re happy to celebrate Raechel’s love letter to the ancient Greek hearth and home goddess, Hestia. Lemon and Rosemary is centered firmly in the domestic sphere, yet she positions the home as a radical place of recuperation and comfort focusing on Hestia’s aspects of bodily autonomy, racial equity, and social justice. We will have copies on hand of Raechel’s two books, The Scent of Lemon and Rosemary (2021) and Sew Witchy (2019) for our book signing. Sew Witchy is a lovely read that is part sewing manual and part grimoire! You’re also welcome to pick up your book prior to the signing, we have copies of The Scent of Lemon and Rosemary on our shelves now! Copies of Sew Witchy will be arriving next week. You are welcome to place an order on SpaceOddities.org for pick up or shipping. In order to keep folks as safe as possible, we ask that all attendees wear a mask to attend Raechel’s talk and signing.
