BAY SHORE, NY — A man was seriously injured after being slashed by a knife-wielding man in Bay Shore on Monday evening, according to Suffolk police. The 49-year-old man was walking to his car in the parking lot of Lowe's on 800 Sunrise Highway when he was approached by two men — one carrying a knife, police said. The attacker slashed the victim, cutting him on his neck and hand, police said. The two men then fled in separate cars, police said. The attack happened at 5:15 p.m. Detectives believe the victim knew his attackers and was specifically targeted. The victim was transported to Southside Hospital for treatment of serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Anyone with information on the attacker is asked to call Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
