Long-Vacant Downtown Framingham Site Gets Tenant

FRAMINGHAM, MA — One of the most noticeable vacant properties in downtown Framingham may soon be getting a tenant. Over the weekend, Downtown Framingham Inc. reported that a lease had been signed for 428 Waverly St., a former 7-Eleven and Tedeschi convenience store. The new tenant will arrive in 2021, according to Downtown Framingham Inc. The 7-Eleven closed abruptly in May 2018. The building has been boarded-up and vacant ever since. The building, with its Tedeschi-era red awnings, sits at the corner of one of Framingham's busiest intersections at Routes 126 and 135, and across the street from the MBTA commuter rail station. 428 Waverly, built in the 1920s, is owned by Paul Gass and Beaumont Realty Trust of Reading, according to city property records. Up until the listing was removed, the 2,700 square-foot building was being listed for either office or retail use
