Nurture your mind, body, & soul through deep stretching, sound, breath Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. Advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. The sequences of postures are meant to stimulate the channels of the subtle body known as meridians in Chinese medicine and as nadis in Hatha yoga. Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fasciae, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality. Sound Healing: Reduce stress and improve physical and emotional health and well-being, through the powerful properties of Sound. Harmonize your frequency and facilitate a profound state of relaxation. About Ashley: Ashley discovered yoga in her home city of Chicago at the age of 17. She started her practice as a way to counter balance her physically demanding career as a hair stylist and discovered the mental health benefits along the way. Yoga compliments her active lifestyle of scuba diving, running, & strength training. It has always been part of her life plan to become a yoga instructor, it was just a matter of when the stars would align. Ashley completed her ryt-200hr @ her home studio, ahana yoga. She not only teaches a physically challenging ahana power flow class, but incorporates kirtan, meditation, & yoga philosophy knowledge into her class. Her students always leave feeling invigorated and rejuvenated. You won’t regret stepping into her class. About Monica: Sound Facilitator, Aroma Point Therapy Practitioner, Certified Hypnotherapist and Journalist. She combines Sound Healing with Hypnotherapy techniques to balance the brain, allow regulation in the body and install constructive beliefs in the subconscious mind. She also works with the energetics of essential oils; as a support to all of the goals detailed above.
