NEW HAVEN, CT — A 24-year-old New Haven woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a skydiving accident in the south central part of New York state, The New Haven Register reported. Police were called to Skydive the Ranch in Gardiner at 2:25 p.m. Monday.
State police said Kristin Silva was making a final approach to land on the runway when she collided with the wing of a Freefall Express aircraft that had landed and was leaving the runway, according to The Register.
Her left leg struck the propeller and her parachute became entangled. She suffered lacerations on her chin and leg and was airlifted to a local hospital.
