FRAMINGHAM, MA — Following a new order from Gov. Charlie Baker, Framingham's City Hall building will largely close to the public beginning next week, officials said Wednesday. Starting Monday, only the Framingham Treasurer's and City Clerk's offices will be open for walk-in service. Everything else in city government will be by appointment only. Residents can make those online or by calling 508-532-5411. On Tuesday, Baker announced new indoor limits on gatherings. The changes go into effect for two weeks beginning Dec. 26, capping capacity at indoor offices at 25 percent. Framingham shut the Memorial Building down in March during the first coronavirus surge. The building fully opened in July — but local cases have been rising steadily since the end of August. On Wednesday, Framingham reported 75 new cases and five new deaths.
