Here are the top five stories in Sacramento today: Newly filed court documents in the downtown Sacramento shooting that killed six people and wounded a dozen others reveal that three of the dead had been involved in the gang dispute that led to the massive shootout, with at least one of them firing a weapon. Documents filed Friday by Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert's office show that the three deceased men affiliated with gangs were Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 32, Devazia Turner, 29, and Sergio Harris, 38, The Sacramento Bee reported Saturday. Hoye-Lucchesi, Turner and Harris were killed, along with Johntaya Alexander, 21; Melinda Davis, 57; and Yamile Martinez-Andrade, 21. Turner fired a weapon, but it was unclear if all three fired weapons. Two of the suspects — brothers Smiley and Dandrae Martin have been arrested. Suspect, Mtula Payton, 27, remains at large. The Hornets Rugby Club won the American College Division ll National title back in 2000 when they beat Claremont College in Columbus, Ohio. Now, the rugby club is playing at the highest level an intramural sport can play. It finished 3-2 at the Pacific Western Conference after beating back UC Santa Cruz, earning themselves a spot at the American College Dl-AA West Coast Regional in Bellingham, Washington. Sac State is set to play against Western Washington in the elite 8 on Saturday at 1 p.m.. You can watch the game live here. (KCRA3)A jury has delivered a guilty verdict in the case of slain El Dorado County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Ishmael, who was killed in October of 2019 after responding to a call. The jury convicted Juan Carlos Vasquez-Orozco, 22 of second-degree murder for ambushing Ishmael who was among officers responding to a 911 call by property owner Garry Ross who reported a theft of marijuana plants in progress on his property. In addition to the murder charge, Vasquez-Orozco was also convicted of assault with a firearm on three other officers. He faces life in prison and is due to be sentenced next month. (Folsom Telegraph)Plans are underway to build the first phase of what will become a 2.5-acre park that's dedicated to showcasing Elk Grove's wetland environment. Features of the park include a wooden boardwalk that visitors can use to view the wetland space, and a 5,700-square foot Nature Center building. The Elk Grove Nature Park will be built behind the CSD Administration building at 8820 Elk Grove Blvd. The Elk Grove Nature Park's first phase, which focuses on improving the current wetland area at the site as well as building a concrete pathway, is scheduled to be completed this fall. (Elk Grove Citizen)After a two-year hiatus, Concerts In The Park —Sacramento's longest-running music festival — is set to return to the downtown area on Friday evenings this year. Starting May 6 and running through July 29, these free concerts that draw thousands to the area each Friday night are a tradition in Sacramento and showcase local and national talent. They're being held as usual at Cesar Chavez Park at 9th and J streets. With up to 8,000 people attending shows, local bars and restaurants say the return of concerts will be a big boost to their business. Security measures will be in place to keep concertgoers safe. "You're checked when you come in, plus we've got not only police officers that we work with, we've also got private security. Your safety at the event is absolutely assured," said Michael Ault, the executive director of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership.
