Description
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — In Laguna Beach, it seems like no matter which way you turn — a work of art is staring right back at you. Residents like Susana Cruciana like it that way, and take every public art sighting as a sign to snap a great photo.
Cruciana snapped this photograph of a ceramic bench by Laguna Beach sculptor Marlo Bartels late March. Bartels specializes in permanent ceramic and stone sculptures, mosaics, pictorial murals and functional art for cities, institutions and personal clients since 1977, according to his website.
This particular piece by Bartels debuted last November, and is one of two ceramic benches near Main Beach sculpted in honor of former school board member Clifford "El" Hathaway, the Laguna Beach Indy reported.
