Julian Edelman has reportedly had knee surgery and will miss time, meaning the struggling Patriots offense must try to right the ship without one of its most dependable players of the last decade.
The 34-year-old receiver will miss Sunday's key divisional matchup against Buffalo, and ESPN reported he is expected to miss "some period of time."
Edelman leads the team with 21 catches for 315 yards. The Patriots could be without him and N'Keal Harry, who suffered a concussion last week, against the Bills.
The Patriots are 2-4 and have looked disjointed on offense. Coach Bill Belichick this week committed to sticking with Cam Newton at quarterback.
