The NFL is moving the Patriots' game against the Broncos to next Sunday following another coronavirus case in New England, the second delay of the game in the past week. ESPN was first to report the rescheduling.
The game was initially scheduled to be played this afternoon, but was pushed to Monday after a previous coronavirus case. Now the teams will play next week, during the Patriots' bye week. The Broncos were scheduled to play Miami next week in a game that is now being rescheduled.
A Patriots test came back positive Saturday night, prompting the team facilities to be shut down Sunday morning. Players, coaches and staff were sent home from the building.
The Patriots only started practicing Saturday after cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive Tuesday, prompting the league to push the Broncos game back a day.
Players either wore face shields or masks under their helmets for Saturday's practice.
It's the second straight week a coronavirus test has moved the team's game from Sunday to Monday. Quarterback Cam Newton tested positive the previous week, pushing the game against the Chiefs back a day.
Practice squad player Bill Murray has also been placed on the COVID list, but it's unclear if he tested positive or was exposed to someone who had.
