Sheriff Encourages Foxborough Seniors To Enroll In Yellow Dot

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Norfolk County Sheriff Jerry McDermott and his senior programs staff were at the Foxborough Council on Aging last Tuesday to make seniors aware of the Yellow Dot Program. Yellow Dot is a free program which provides first responders with quick access to critical medical information about the occupants of a car in the event of a crash or health emergency. Participants place a Yellow Dot Decal on the driver's side rear windshield of their cars. In the event of an emergency or crash, the Yellow Dot alerts emergency responders that inside the glove compartment there is an envelope containing the operator's medical information inside the car's glove compartment. The envelope has the operators photo, medical conditions, allergies, recent surgeries, medications and emergency contact information. "We encourage our senior residents to take advantage of the Yellow Dot Program," McDermott said in a statement. "This program can help those in emergency situations get the necessary help they need quickly." The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office is offering this program free of charge.
