Description
I'm an intermediate bass player and play upright and electric. I'm looking for musicians who want to form a band and to try to develop a sound.
Jamming and flipping through Real Books is fun but doesn't really feel like anything is getting crafted like breaks, fills, beginnings and endings etc. Instead of skimming thousands of songs I'd essentially like to learn an album or two worth of material and get it down good enough to play a gig.
I'm flexible to the style of music we play and am hoping that a wide variety of tastes will mesh into something cool. Personally depending on the mood I'm listening MMW, James Brown, Mac Miller, Miles, Mingus, Monk, Elvis, RHCP, Beatles, Stones, Bach, Sex Pistols, etc.
I hope to absorb everyone's influences and put together towards a good band sound and whether that ends up leaning more towards funk, rock, jazz is fine with me.
I'm not expecting anything to last forever but it'd be ideal to have people going into this thinking that they're not going to quit after things settle in and we find the right mix of people. I've got a day job so can practice in the evening or weekends and also have a decent practice space in NE. Thanks
