NAUGATUCK, CT — A man was hospitalized after being extricated from a pickup truck and later charged with operating under the influence for a crash Sunday night in Naugatuck, according to police. Emergency crews responded to the area of Webb Road around 10:15 p.m. for a crash. The driver, identified as Patrick Walsh, was extricated from the pickup truck by firefighters. He was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment and evaluation of minor injuries, according to police. Walsh, 56, of Naugatuck, was then taken into custody and charged as police said he was responsible for the crash. Police said Walsh, who also had several outstanding arrest warrants, became uncooperative during the booking process and threatened officers. Walsh was arrested on charges of second-degree threatening, interfering with officer/resisting, failure to drive in proper lane, operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs, and reckless driving. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. "Naugatuck Police remind the public of the hazards of operating under in the influence and we will be conducting a sobriety check point later this week," police said.
