NAUGATUCK, CT — A traffic stop led to a drug bust late Friday night in Naugatuck, according to police. A Naugatuck police officer initiated the stop around 11:20 p.m. in the area of Union City Road and Gail Drive after seeing "moving violations" involving a 2020 Nissan Altima, according to officials. The driver was found to be in the possession of less than a ½ ounce of marijuana and had a suspended license. The driver was issued a misdemeanor summons, according to police. The passenger, Demetrius Dolorian Keels, was found to be in the possession of 55 bags of fentanyl, 13 grams of crack cocaine and $304 in cash that police believe is a "result of illegal narcotics transactions," officials said. Keels, 22, of Waterbury, was arrested on charges of sale of illegal drugs and possession of a controlled substance. He was released after posting a $20,000 bond with a court date of Jan. 13.
