Description
House Assistant Part-Time / Flexible hours Year-Round or Seasonal Live In Potential I have a home in the North Fork (Southold) Long Island on the bay used year-round but split time in as I travel for work approx 15 days/ month. There is a house manager to call on for larger items who lives nearby (HVAC, if a tree falls down, landscaping, and so on.) Looking to add someone consistent to handle the week-to-week tasks of the home running smoothly. Hours are flexible- part-time is fine and would prefer someone who can stop by and put a few hours in at least once weekly. Late or early hours are generally not a problem. Open to year-round help, but if here seasonally for a concurrent position in the North Fork I may have a discounted live-in housing option available with a private entrance. Generally, 1-4 people use the home, a small french bulldog, occasional guests, and no children. I run a company trade/collect/ create art, and love studying/maintaining the 200 or so varieties of plants, animals, and flowers we have here on site. I’m estimating the tasks below will entail about 20 hours per month. There are always indoor or outdoor projects that can be done at the property depending on what you like to do if more hours are wanted. Tasks Include: *We have a house cleaner that comes to do the deeper cleaning. Light vacuuming, changing bed linens, wiping down surfaces, tidying, putting away dishes, some laundry. Run personal and household errands ex grocery items, hardware store, dry cleaner, post office. Setting up the outdoor furniture, cushions, and sports equipment (paddleboards, kayaks, bikes) as needed. Unpack/ put away deliveries/ sort mail. Manage returns when needed. Drop off donations. Household duties– eg change lightbulbs/fuses, put out/ take in garbage/recycling/bins, organizing. Light filing, emailing, bookkeeping, online ordering, and occasional bill pay. Keeping refrigerator clean and stocked with basics/ discarding out-of-date items. Scheduling, sourcing, and managing outside vendors as needed. Optional pet care/ pet sitting Occasional event planning ex. food ordering/ pickup/setup/ and breakdown that can happen the same day or during the following week. Car maintenance appointments as needed. Swapping summer/ winter items out seasonally. Keeping patios, pathways, and outdoor furniture, clean. Watering household plants and refreshing any cut flowers. Occasional projects depending on your skill sets can include furniture assembly, selling items online, painting, handyman, gardening, etc. depending on what you like to do.
