Brand new to Philly from the Boston area (33 M). I just moved in and I don't have most of my gear here yet, but I wanted to see what's out there.
I play an Upright bass and the Guitar. Not stellar at either, but well enough for most punk based music. I also usually tend to do main vox. I have some recordings of older work if you're curious.
Right now I'm still settling in the city, but within a few months I'd like to start getting more serious musically.
In MA I had a couple of local bands, put on some shows, did a little bit of recording. So I'm not totally new to this. (I'm also not a hardened pro)
PLUS:
-Enthusiasm!
-Upright bass is pretty snazzy
-PA equipment including Mics
-several original songs written, lots of covers ready to rock
CONS:
-Rusty
-Gear is still in MA
(will be here by the end of April)
-No place to practice
Open to different situations right now but ultimately trying to make something out of this and build up a popular local level band.
It'd be great to have a guitarist, drums, an organist, maybe some horns/woodwinds. I'm aiming for something a little more unusual than a standard four piece lineup.
Biggest influences include:
World/Inferno Friendship Society
The Nekromantix
The Damned
Murder City Devils
Mad Sin
Rocket From the Crypt
New York Dolls
Misfits
The Cramps
Idles
Dead Kennedys
Tom Waits
Stray Cats
Shoot me a message! G'luck out there!
