Description
We are an instrumental jazz group playing regularly for our own enjoyment. We play songs with interesting harmonic changes and polyphonic parts from such composers as T. Monk, G. Mulligan, M. Davis, W. Montgomery, et. al. (We don't play the usual vocal standards.) We currently have in our lineup the following instrumentation: Tenor Sax, Trombone, Flute, 2 Guitars, Bass, and a few drummers taking turns. We just lost our trumpet player due to relocation to another country. We play approximately once every two weeks. The group consists of competent players, most who can read and improvise to chord changes found in songs by aforementioned artists. We either play at Michiko Studios, and share the costs, or at a LIC location (free), or Bob Hall's apartment (BYOB) for partial group sessions. It is a casual group atmosphere, but new admits must be able to read, good intonation and tone, and be able to improvise. Let me know if you are interested.
