Description
This information was sent out via the Code Red system on Friday evening. November 6, 2020 Re: COVID-19 Code Red Transcript Good Afternoon, Today is Friday November 6. We are calling you today to inform you of recent changes in our alert status, our case rate in Naugatuck, as of today is 19.2. This new rate elevates Naugatuck from orange to red, as we have now exceeded the level of 15. There are currently 68 towns in the red alert category in Connecticut. Several of the other towns around us have case rates higher than ours, but we all need to know that our rate is on the rise. So, what does this mean? Well, we all need to be cautious and serious, but we also need to find ways to use common sense and logic in our approach to the virus. We need to blend the guidelines into our daily lives. Businesses, schools and restaurants will remain open, as we continue to monitor the virus. We will continue to keep you informed. So, what do we do as individuals? First, enjoy the good weather that we're having now stay outside as much as you can. Second, recognize that we're going to have a long winter. Also, realize that we're all suffering from COVID fatigue. And we all need to find ways to prepare for the winter. Everyone has to recognize their limitations and factor their age and health into the equation, as well as the health and safety of those we come in contact with. We're getting lots of questions about restaurants, Governor Lamont has moved us from phase 3 to phase 2.1 on a statewide basis. This means seating capacity is now at 50% inside and closing time is 9:30pm, except for takeout or delivery. Let's all continue to support our restaurants and stores. Be safe at work, find ways to live your lives as safely as you can, and always stay Naugy strong and Naugy smart. Thank you, Pete Hess MayorBorough of Naugatuck
