Island Metals (www.islandmetals.com) is looking for a skilled framer and builder to help lead the efforts of our tiny home construction. These buildings are made at our shop or assembled out at the customer location on Kauai. We manufacture metal roofing and siding, which are used in our custom tiny homes and sheds. We are a growing business and have booked builds out through the fall and looking for a lead to take design plans and get it done in a quality manner. Candidate must be reliable, a leader, and a craftsperson that loves building quality structures. Job Responsibilities • Frame tiny home buildings and sheds • Install windows and doors • Install sheeting, underlayment, insulation, and metal roofing • Install metal siding • Attention to detail and experience to get it right • Lead a crew and work with other builders Job Benefits • 40 hours per week (M-F 8am-5pm) • Performance evaluations 2X per year • Starting pay $22/hour • Additional benefits begin after trial period: • 9 paid holidays per year • Paid time off and sick days • Overtime pay • Medical Care • Bereavement leave Job Skills & Qualifications Required: • Ability to interact with customers, beginner helpers, office staff, and owners • Experience in framing and building • Must have own transportation to our shop or job site • Ideal to have your own tools but we provide main tools needed • Willing to learn our methods and learn the metal roofing and siding industry Email us your contact information, why this job interests you, and what relevant experience you have.
