Natural Bundle Dye Workshop with Isa of Circles & Cycles Learn about the beautiful art and science of natural bundle dyeing with Isa of Circles & Cycles. Learn how to dye your own silk bandana or pillowcase using dye flowers grown by Isa, plant powders, kitchen food waste and rusty hardware ~ many dyestuffs that you already have in your kitchen or landscape. This workshop will include an introduction to natural dyeing along with plenty of hands-on time to experiment with this craft and ask questions. You will leave the workshop with an instructional handout and a beautiful botanically dyed silk scarf or pillowcase made by you! This workshop will cover: The free-form technique of Bundle DyeingHow to use pH modifiers and iron to create patterns & spectrums of colorHow to properly prepare fibers for dyeing to ensure colors hold over timeOverview of different Natural dye techniquesOverview of natural dyestuffs, like marigold, rose, onion skins, hibiscus, turmeric and a variety of easy-to-grow dye flowers * Class fee includes instruction and all the necessary supplies & materials (dyestuffs and fabric). No prior experience necessary - all are welcome! Each participant will leave the workshop with a botanically dyed silk scarf or pillowcase and an instructional handout. She offers a selection of natural remedies, skincare and textile art handcrafted in micro batches using homegrown, organic and wild plants.
