Your Host: Jay Rivas For Tips: @JRivasComedy $JRivasComedy Jay has been doing comedy in the DMV for years. He has opened for Tony Woods, Sylvia Traymore Morrison, TK Kirkland and more. He has received an award from Bethesda Magazine for his weekly comedy shows from 2014 to 2016 which featured Roast Battles, Comedian of the Year competitions, Open Mic, and Showcases. More recently he was one of the founding members of Speakeasy DC. He has taken comedy classes from both Sheila Wenz and Martin Amini. Jay has also done acting, professional wrestling, stunt work, and more. Special Guest: Justine Morris For Tips Venmo: @killersingledad Justine is an up and coming comedian and producer with a silly, observational comedy style that often touches on their queer experience. They have performed at Austin Sketch Fest, hosted for Punchbowl Comedy, and written and performed sketches with UMD's Maryland Night Live. When Justine isn't clowning around for other's amusement, they work as a freelance stage manager. Follow @killersingledad Special Guest: Angel Penn For Tips @angelbefunny $angelbefunny Angel Penn is a Washington DC comic famous for being the loudest laugh at any comedy show and supporting DMV comedy. Finally, he grabbed the mic to host and produce shows in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He's performed for the DC Improv, State Theatre, created Spaghetti on the Beach, and opened-ish for Todd Glass. Special Guest: Joey Friedman For Tips @joey-friedman-3 Joey began performing at her parent’s dinner table in Monsey, NY. A natural performer, but professional customer service rep, Joey brings levity to the experiences life has thrown her way. As a cancer survivor, she has nothing to fear and delivers jokes with an unshakable frankness. She can be found bouncing between comedy clubs in the DMV area. He was voted the Best House Comic at the Laugh Index Theatre in DC for 2020 and 2021 and he was selected to the Best of the Fest for the 2021 Burbank Comedy Festival. You can see him working with the Kinda Live Comedy team across DC and producing shows out of his own living room as part of House Rules Comedy. After a brief period working on Stephen Colbert's Campaign for Truthiness, she decided to pursue comedy as a career. She has been seen at the Laugh Factory in Chicago, Church of Satire in Hanover, PA, and comedy clubs all over the country. Ashley was a 2019 Finalist for Magooby's Comedian of the Year and most recently opened for Matt Braunger at the Weinberg Center for the Performing Arts in Frederick, Md. Follow her on social media @ashleypontiuslaughs for content and show updates! Headliner: Winston Hodges For Tips Venmo: @winstonhcomedy Winston is from DC by way of Richmond VA. He is known for his southern charm and edgy wit. His debut album Already Aware is available wherever albums are digitally sold, and his award winning special Grieving Productively is available on YouTube. Follow him @winstonhcomedy on everything Ever Want to try Stand-up? Stick around for our Open Mic just a few minutes after the show! Angel Penn will be your host for the open mic where YOU can try your hand at standup or watch some of the DMV's best practice their craft. Angel has been a staple in the comedy community shepherding new and veteran comics alike in the art form known as standup. He's performed at the DC Improv, State Theatre, and opened-ish for Todd Glass. It's a friendly room and environment to get your feet wet or practice that new joke that's been burning a hole in your brain. Buying a ticket gets you first dibs on signing up for the show or you can wait to sign up outside of the show room, but spots are limited. You'll get 5 minutes to impress your friends and maybe if you do well enough you'll be on the main show one day! The open mic starts at 945, signup on site will be at 930 every week!
