Description

The Actors Academy aims to connect and provide the essential acting tools needed for the modern performing artist to succeed. We provide a platform for directors, acting coaches, casting agents, producers, and film makers to teach actors the techniques needed to develop and sustain a great performing arts career. The mission of The Actors Academy is to awaken the imagination, emotion, and intellect of the student artist by making him/her aware of the transforming power and universality of performance arts and the skills required to achieve excellence. The Actors Academy Take 6: "GO TOUR" Course Schedule The Actors Academy Take 6: "Go Tour" is a play on the popular “Pokemon GO” game. This game is an “augmented reality” in which players must physically move around the real world in order to capture Pokemon, which are fantastical creatures from the ever-popular anime franchise of the same name. This session will be the D.M.V actors' version of this game. Instead, we will visit fantastical production houses around the area for a "Tour" of their space. Each location we tour will offer a performance arts skill building "Gem" for our actors to pick up and use to progress in their career. These skills, when mastered, will assist any level actor in their professional progression within the craft. *Classe are held from 2pm-4pm for adults 18+*April 9, 2022 Location: Iron Crown Productions Studio, 3500 Parkdale Ave. Suite Y, Baltimore Md. 21211 GEM #1: Cold Reads & Auditioning Directors: Dr. Tammi Rogers & Naim Freeman GEM Description: An actor’s ability to cold read is essential to establishing a professional career.
