(NTATD) The overall purpose of NTATD is to empower those entrusted with the care and education of our children and give them the insight, knowledge, and skills to learn how to protect our children and yourselves. This particular day is designed to offer free training to our teachers, school administrators, school staff, and those that work with youth in a leadership capacity (athletic coaches, Sunday school, clergy, religious leaders). We encourage you all to take advantage of these educational opportunities. At this event, you will learn the following: 1. We’ll discuss the Run, Hide, or Fight concept and develop a plan for an active shooter with special considerations for businesses, schools, churches, and other organizations. 2. Personal Safety and Awareness – One of the most critical steps toward ensuring your own safety is having a personal safety strategy in place before you need it. This program teaches the tips and techniques you need to be alerted to dangerous situations and avoid criminal confrontation. 3. Firearm Safety and learn to shoot -This part of the day will give you the ins and outs of firearm safety, including safe storage and pistol handling. After being familiar and comfortable with the pistol, you will learn the fundamentals of pistol shooting and shooting the gun in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. We must warn you- this will be FUN!
