Description

An intergenerational conversation on racial identity within the black community. How we tell our stories and how we want our stories told. Join us as we discuss the diverse perspectives on the Black experience locally and nationally, how each generations’ experiences have shaped the way we tell our stories, and how we take ownership of our identity by narrating our stories in community and through art. We will be joined by Co-Executive Producer of HBO’s “The Gilded Age”, Sonja Warfield, as well as other local artists and activists, moderated by Jewel Woods, Founder & Clinical Director of Male Behavioral Health Counseling & Consultation Services. While at the Museum, we invite you to visit Forward Together: Promised Gifts from the Collection of Donna and Larry James exhibit and the Big Idea Gallery: Home exhibit in the JPMorgan Chase Center for Creativity. This is our first ENC Live in-person event! You don’t want to miss this! Refreshments available when doors open. Space is limited, registration is required. Thank you to our event sponsor JPMorgan Chase & Co. What is ENC?At the onset of the pandemic, we convened a group of Black community leaders to discuss access to healthcare and economic resources for disenfranchised families. Over the last two years, the conversation has continued and evolved beyond COVID-19 relief into highlighting innovative, effective solutions that work to achieve racial equity and grow an inclusive economy. Today, The Equity Now Coalition (ENC) convenes stakeholders of Black-led and Black-centered social service agencies as well as the community partners and funders that support our organizational missions and shared vision for community change and impact.
