Description

Come learn more about NYC trees on our #BLTrees inspired tour! Lead by Georgia Silvera Seamans & Marielle Anzelone Look up and see your urban neighbors. Georgia and Marielle will share tips and point out features to help identify the various types of street trees. We'll look for signs of fallen leaves and fruits, and observe bark and bud characteristics. Any wildflowers, fungi and wildlife that we see will also be noted. Meet at the northwest corner of 7th Avenue and W 22 Street. The tour is capped at 20 people. The tour will be announced on air and sells out fast. If there's a large waiting list we'll add another date. Georgia Silvera Seamans is a community forester and director of Washington Square Park EcoProjects and founder of Local Nature Lab. She conducts tree phenology studies and bird education and outreach in the park. Marielle Anzelone is the founder of NYC Wildflower Week and talks trees once a month on WNYC's Brian Lehrer Show #BLTrees - @nycbotanist on tw + ig
