With a heavy heart, I'm looking to rehome my sweet plum headed parakeet named Zazu. He talks and knows some words and phrases, he's very gentle and loves riding your shoulder (but doesn't like being touched.) He doesn't bite but will give a gentle warning if you try petting his head. He is 4 (his birthday is February 20, 2018.) He's on a diet of Mayan harvest seeds, small zupreem pellets, and fruits and veggies. Plum headed parakeets are rare in the US and very good talkers if repeatedly taught new words or phrases. I'm rehoming him due to a new job that requires a lot of travel. Parrots require stability and consistency and it's been so hard leaving him with babysitters. If interested, please ensure that your home has no cats, no aggressive dog breeds, and if you have children, please make sure they are old enough to know that this is a fragile being. His wings are not clipped because he's hand tame and I believe birds should always have their wings. Rehoming fee is $500 to ensure that he goes to a good home. If you want his cage too, that's an additional $100 since it's a very nice and big cage. Sincere inquiries only, please.
