This class will teach you how to create designs and patterns optimized for laser or vinyl cutting. Before you can make a cool laser cut project you need to create a file that the machine uses to guide the cut. We generally refer to this type of file as vector based. If you have used programs like Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw then you have already created this type of file. For this class we’ll be using Inkscape - a free vector based drawing program. The concepts we’ll cover will apply to any vector based software package though. Along with going over the primary features of the software you’ll need to create designs we will also teach you how to optimize your designs to get the best results from the laser cutter. At the end of the class we’ll cut your design out on the machine. 4 hours : $95 Material fee: included Limited to 6 students Note: Please bring your laptop computer.
