Experience what dementia is like in a hospital setting, and learn how to provide better care to those living with this disease. Take a walk in their shoes... Join us to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Second Wind Dreams by taking the Tour, our flagship dementia education tool. The Hospital VDT simulates the effects of aging and dementia to show how it feels when a person with dementia is in the hospital. Use this experience to: 1) show staff how the hospital environment and approach to care affects a person with dementia, 2) discover better ways to interact with dementia patients to reduce the need for drug or other interventions, and 3) improve the patient experience and ease the workload on direct care staff. The Tour will take 30-45 minutes, and we take up to 6 participants per half hour.
