This story was last updated at 11:42 p.m. FALMOUTH, MA — Sen. Susan Moran (D-Falmouth), leads by 12,352 votes over challenger James McMahon with Plymouth and Kingston withstanding. The race saw a rematch between Moran and Republican McMahon when the candidates faced off in a special election in May to replace Sen. The election gave the candidate their first taste of the kinds of outcomes that could happen amid the coronavirus pandemic. McMahon, an attorney from Buzzards Bay, appeared to have a lead in Plymouth on election night. But after mail-in votes were counted, Moran defeated McMahon in the district's biggest town.
