Description
We need to re-home our female senior puggle (beagle/pug). Peanut is 14 years old, slowing down but very alert, friendly puggle who originated from a breeder on Long Island, NY. I was her second owner (her first owner had her for only about 6 weeks before realizing that they weren’t up for raising a puppy), so I adopted her and have raised her for the past 13.5 years. Now, with our growing family, we feel we aren’t giving her enough attention and love, and we would like her to finish her years with a family that centers her more, and gives her more time and affection.
Peanut is healthy aside from a recent (2020) diagnosis of Cushing’s Disease, which she is stable on medication for (Vetoryl 10mg morning and evening / costs around $75 a month). She is up to date on vet visits and vaccines. Our vet recently said she is incredibly healthy and in great shape (not at all overweight) for her age and Cushing's condition. She enjoys short walks (5-10 mins) once or twice a day, and otherwise likes to lounge around the house in sunny spots. She is friendly with other dogs (although doesn’t like “puppy play” with younger dogs), and also does well with kids and babies (we have a 2 year old).
We want to find the right new home! Please email us to talk more.
