Press release from the University of Delaware: April 15, 2022 Community remembers beverage operations manager in Dining ServicesJeffry Stafford Kuhn II, a University of Delaware alumnus who was manager of Beverage Operations in Dining Services at the University, passed away on March 22. He was 32. Brian Schea, catering/beverage operations director at UD, said, "Jeff was a loyal and caring friend to those he worked with. His presence will be sorely missed among many he fostered deep relationships with during his time with us." "Jeffry Kuhn will always be remembered by his coworkers with UD Catering and Beverage Operations as kind, thoughtful, enthusiastic and certainly one of a kind," said Rachel Cowit, assistant catering director. "He enjoyed his job and had a passion for life, wine, cooking and his Beverage Operations family. Many of us have known Jeff for years and we are incredibly sad at his passing. I do not think we will ever find someone else just like Jeff." A graduate of St. Mark's High School, Mr. Kuhn earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from UD in 2012. During high school and college, he worked as a pharmacy tech at Happy Harry's. He joined Dining Services at the University in 2018. According to Mr. Kuhn's obituary, his passions included cooking, and his love of travel took him to Europe and many parts of the United States. He was planning a trip to Portugal and Spain this spring. He is survived by his husband, Brandon Ahearn; parents Jeffry and Barbara Kuhn; grandmother, Eleanore Beale; brother Victor Mattia (Jennifer); sisters Dana Adlesic (Rudy) and Staci Kuhn (Randy); nephews Ethan, Madden, Mason, RJ, Shane and niece Emma; in-laws Lynda and Gregory Ahearn, Jonathan (Shiloh) and Andrea; his cats Ben and Frisk; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Donations in Mr. Kuhn's memory may be made to the Faithful Friends Animal Society located at 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington DE 19804.
