FALMOUTH, MA — Today is Monday, Oct. 12. Here's what Patch has been covering south of Boston and on the Cape and Islands today. The mother of a 4-year-old boy who drowned at a Falmouth campground has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the camp, seeking $7.5 million in damages. Represented by attorneys George and Justin Miller, Brockton resident Maria Ribiero filed the lawsuit Aug. 21 in Plymouth Superior Court against Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins in East Falmouth. The campground is being sued on grounds of negligence, wrongful death, conscious pain and suffering and wrongful death with willful, wanton or reckless and.or gross negligence, the Cape Cod Times reported. "They should have known that there existed a potentially dangerous condition within the confines of the swimming pool which might cause injury or death to children," Ribiero's lawyers wrote in the complaint. Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins owner Anthony Newman told the Cape Cod Times he didn't know anything about the lawsuit and couldn't comment. Dead Minke Whale Found Stranded On Cape Cod Beach A dead minke whale was discovered stranded on a Cape Cod Beach Sunday. Researchers with the International Fund for Animal Welfare were called to a beach near Sesuit Harbor. According to the organization, the young whale was found entangled in fishing line that was wrapped around its head and through its mouth. Officials believe this made it difficult for the animal to open its mouth and feed. Missing Falmouth Man's Body Found Off Shore Of Maine Lake The body of a missing Falmouth man was found on the shores a remote lake in Maine, according to officials. James Fulginiti, 64, was found around 2:30 p.m., Saturday off the shore of Little Beaver Pond in Oxford, Maine, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said. Fulginiti had not been seen by friends for several days, the department said in a statement.
