Description

Greetings! Back in the day, playing basketball was a year around activity. Now, it seems more seasonal. So I am wondering would anyone be interested in practicing basketball in both Ferndale and Bellingham? It would need to be a limited amount of participants (current 4th graders - current 3rd graders could inquiry - to 6th grades boys and first come first serve communication to about 10 kids). Parents can stay and watch their kids. I work as a paraeducator for public schools in Whatcom County. I just finished coaching an 4th/5th grade boys basketball team. It was 5th/6th grade boys a year before that (before COVID). I am actually practicing with two of my players in Bellingham. We use a court outdoors. We have drills (lay ups, dribbling, plays like give and go, defensive stance, etc) and then play Around The World, Bump, etc). I am talking about one hour and 15 minutes. I am looking into opportunities for indoor basketball scrimmage. I have references. I volunteer at a church. I can tell you more things about myself when you email. That way, I know that the right people are inquiring. I live in Ferndale right by the Ferndale Public Library. I sub pretty widely. I am pretty sure that I may know a person or two who are interested. This is free for now. Maybe getting an indoor gym for occasional indoor play may require slight donations. I am looking into that. I would to run this like Upward Sports (informally). It is a Christian organization that has an five minute Bible devotion at half of the time. Ethical character takes people a long way as they play sports or other wholesome activities. Be Blessed!
