Press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office: April 15, 2022 Jefferson County, CO. – Angel Rodriguez (DOB 030598) was arrested on April 14, 2022 for 2nd degree murder as a result of a death investigation which began at 1:45 p.m. the same day. JCSO deputies responded to the 10200 block of W. Geddes Circle on the report of a homicide—after dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a murder at the residence. When deputies arrived, they encountered the caller – now identified as Angel Rodriguez – on the front lawn. Upon entering the home, deputies found a deceased adult female victim. The victim had sustained obvious traumatic injury. Deputies immediately took Rodriguez into custody for questioning. Earlier on the 14th, at 5:10 a.m., deputies responded to the same address for a welfare check. The 911 caller, believed to be Rodriguez, referenced a partial address and then hung up without stating the nature of the emergency. Upon callback, dispatch initiated a welfare check. Deputies were not able to make contact with anyone in the home, but did speak on the phone with the homeowner, Rodriquez's mother. At that time, the mother explained her son was experiencing a mental health issue and advised the family would be able to handle the issue and would notify the Sheriff's Office if necessary. Deputies cleared the scene without entering the home.
